Out-of-stock behavior

Products can be configured to behave differently when they run out. Operators can choose whether the product should still appear as sold out or disappear entirely, and they can separately choose whether depleted products should be hidden from POS, guest checkout, or both.

  • Show as Sold Out keeps the product visible but unavailable.
  • Hide completely removes the product instead of showing a sold-out state.
  • Hide from POS when fully depleted affects staff-facing selling workflows.
  • Hide from Guest Checkout when fully depleted affects customer-facing purchase flows.

Tips

  • Use the catalog table for quick status and stock review, then open the detail page when you need transactions or option-level inventory controls.
  • Use the side panel for general product setup and the Stock and Rates tab for advanced variant-based inventory.
  • If a product should disappear when unavailable, review both the out-of-stock behavior and the channel-specific hide settings together.
