Abandoned bookings
How to recovery Settings — General Settings
When recovery is active, booking progress is saved after the guest fills in the booking form. If they leave without completing payment, the booking is marked abandoned after Abandonment Delay. A recovery email is sent after Recovery Email Delay. The link in that email stays valid until Shopping Basket Expiry. A ? help button next to the section title explains this same timeline.

- Abandonment Delay is a number plus minutes, hours, or days. It is how long to wait after the guest leaves the form before marking the cart abandoned. The default is 6 minutes.
- Shopping Basket Expiry is a number plus hours or days. It is how long the recovery link remains usable. The default is 24 hours.
- Recovery Email Delay is hours after abandonment before the automatic email is sent. The default is 1 hour.
- Customize the recovery email subject and body in Settings → Emails and Messaging → Email Templates → Abandoned Bookings Email.
Tips
- Start with a short abandonment delay and a recovery email within an hour while intent is still high.
- Require opt-in if you serve EU customers, and leave Keep checkbox automatically selected off.
- Use Send Reminder for large carts, and check Recovery History so you do not email the same guest repeatedly.
